A helping hand through tough times

Food bills soaring. Energy bills soaring. Fuel costs soaring.

We know these are incredibly tough times for many families across North Norfolk. But we're determined to lend a helping hand and ease the burden where possible.

That's why I'm delighted to announce our new Hardship and Support Grant here in North Norfolk, which will target help at those in most need.

Payments from the Liberal Democrat-run North Norfolk District Council (in the form of vouchers, white goods, furniture or minor home repair) will be made to help alleviate poverty, support vulnerable residents and help people through personal and difficult circumstances.

You can read more about the scheme here.

At a time when people (justifiably) feel abandoned by the government, I'm beyond proud that we're stepping in and providing the much-needed support people are crying out for.

The scheme will run for two years, with households able to receive two support payments each year.

We know this won't be the answer to every problem.

But, for those who receive this support, we hope it goes some way towards ending the sleepless nights and helps during this incredibly testing cost of living crisis.

Leader of North Norfolk District Council, Liberal Democrats
